Dr. Murtaza Kamal is an accomplished Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist with a strong academic background and extensive clinical expertise in congenital and acquired heart diseases in children. He is currently a Visiting Consultant at Rainbow Childrens Heart Institute, Hyderabad, a premier 100-bed pediatric cardiac center, and Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist at Paramitha Hospitals, Hyderabad. Dr. Kamal obtained his MBBS and MD (Pediatrics) from VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, followed by DNB (Pediatrics) and advanced specialization in Pediatric Cardiology (DNB Super-Speciality) from STAR Hospitals, Hyderabad. He has further enhanced his academic credentials by attaining the MRCPCH (UK) from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London. His professional journey spans leading tertiary care hospitals across India, where he has contributed to both clinical excellence and academic advancement in pediatric cardiology. His research interests focus on congenital heart disease interventions, pediatric echocardiography, strain imaging, fetal and neonatal cardiology, and outcomes in complex cardiac anomalies. He also has a keen interest in thalassemia-related cardiac complications, pediatric arrhythmias, and structural heart disease interventions. Dr. Kamal has an extensive list of peer-reviewed publications, including original research, reviews, and case reports on rare cardiac anomalies such as Uhl?s anomaly, cyanotic atrial septal defects, and double-orifice mitral valve, along with innovative approaches to interventional cardiology. His work on tissue Doppler and strain imaging in thalassemic children has been recognized at national conferences and has contributed to the evolving field of pediatric cardiac imaging. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Sri Krishna Memorial Best Paper Award (CSI 2018), P. N. Taneja Award (AIIMS, 2013), and multiple accolades at national pediatric cardiology forums. He is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiac Society of India, PCICS, and APHRS. Through his blend of clinical expertise, academic research, and international collaborations, Dr. Kamal continues to advance the field of pediatric cardiology with a vision to improve outcomes for children with heart disease.
