Mr. Michael Herman is the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Cancer CAREs International, Inc. (Cancer Avoidance & Resiliency Education), a Delaware-based PBC (Public Benefits Corporation)with the mission of Educating Towards a Cancer-Free Tomorrow. With over a decade of advocacy and leadership experience, I have dedicated my career to building innovative platforms that empower students, families, and communities with the knowledge to prevent, detect, and advocate against cancer. An 11-year survivor of multiple myeloma, I bring both personal experience and professional expertise to my work. I serve on the advisory boards of several major pharmaceutical companies, contribute to national and international cancer advocacy organizations, and have spoken globally on patient-centricity, early cancer education, and health equity. I have also been featured as the cover story in the American Association for Cancer Research's Cancer Today magazine and recognized in CISCRP's Medical Hero Spotlight for my participation in clinical trials and ongoing advocacy. Through Cancer CAREs International, I am leading initiatives that will bring Cancer Avoidance education to millions throughout the globe with fun, interactive, voice-based technologies as well as social media, with global expansions underway in the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. Mr. Herman's guiding principle is that with almost half of cancers being avoidable, we need to stop acting in a reactive way and bring AVOIDANCE to the forefront of education. Grounded in the American Cancer Society?s finding that nearly half of all cancers are preventable, Mr. Herman advocates for a transformative shift from reaction to prevention?placing cancer avoidance at the forefront of education and public health. The most effective way to beat cancer is to prevent it before diagnosis ever occurs.
