Dr. Adel EL TAGURI, PhD is a distinguished Lecturer in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tripoli, Libya. He has served in this capacity since May 2016 and has been affiliated with the department since 1996. Prior to his academic career, Dr. EL TAGURI practiced as a Pediatrician at both Benghazi Children's Hospital and Tajoura General Hospital. He later pursued advanced academic studies in health development, nutritional epidemiology, and pediatric nutritional diseases in France. His teaching portfolio encompasses crucial areas such as child health, health systems and quality, and nutrition. He has authored multiple publications in these fields, contributing to both national and international scholarship. In 2013, Dr. EL TAGURI was appointed Director of Quality and Patient Safety at Libya?s Ministry of Health, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the National Center for Accreditation of Health Establishments. His leadership in this area was further recognized when, in 2018, he was appointed Director General by the Head of the Presidential Council, a position he continues to hold. Dr. EL TAGURI?s career is marked by a seamless blend of clinical practice, academic leadership, and public health administration, reflecting his steadfast commitment to enhancing healthcare quality and child health in Libya.
